238 Harbour Esplanade

Planning Minister Matthew Guy has granted approval to build a $300 million hotel and residential complex on the corner of Harbour Esplanade and Dudley Street at the northern end of Docklands.

The new 37 level tower will sit on the block of land at 238 Harbour Esplanade, between Harbour Esplanade and Wurundjeri Way.

The plans call for a complex of 299 apartments and a 4.5-star 281 room hotel managed by Pan Pacific Hotels Group as PARKROYAL Melbourne. The facilities will include a 200-seat restaurant, bars, conference centre, meeting rooms, pool, gym and 218 car parking spaces. The building has been designed by architects Moull Murray. Mr Guy said the project was a ''huge boost'' to the northern end of Docklands. "This proposal will complete the Dudley Street/Harbour Esplanade gateway of Docklands and build on the precinct's services and public spaces in this growing neighbourhood''.
