MASTERPLAN
The Minister for Planning, the Hon Matthew Guy, approved the current Masterplan for Digital Harbour on 28th July 2011.
The main updates to this plan include:
- A broader mix of occupancies to encourage 24/7 activation
- Connection of Digital Drive (the internal street) to La Trobe Street
- Realigning Digital Drive to provide internal street frontage to all buildings
- Enhancing pedestrian connections across Harbour Esplanade to New Quay promenade
- An increase in potential number of residential apartments
- Relocation of 100m tower north of Melbourne Water opening up views to the water
- Incorporation of a vertical school catering for families residing in Docklands
- Clearer definition to Digital Drive edge character enhancing linkage of open spaces
- Incorporation of two new public open spaces vested in the City of Melbourne
- Identification of retail ‘nodes’ to service the needs of precinct occupants
- A tree lined avenue with short-term parking to Digital Drive
- Lowering built form to north east corner improving solar penetration
- A north plaza off Dudley Street providing for a pedestrian bridge from E-Gate
